Integrated Group Production

To ensure the utmost quality, we use fully integrated production and process that have been painstakingly refined over many years based on scientific methods.

Our pure reishi mushroom products "OuKou" is produced entirely within our group, all the way from the cultivation of the beds to commercialization under the strictest of controls.

We use natural materials and pure water sourced locally in the pristine environment of Hokkaido (Japan's northernmost prefecture) and treat them with our unique technology.

Data on the exact timing of inoculation, planting, and harvesting are carefully managed to ensure traceability and added safety and security.

Strict Production Process

1. Logs: Top-quality logs are harvested during the snowy season when nutrients are abundant and cut to the optimal length.

2. Treatments: Sterilization and other conditioning are applied to the logs to facilitate the perfect culture medium.

3. Conditions: After sealing in a hygienically controlled clean room, the fungus beds are cultivated with the ideal temperature, humidity, water, and light.

4. Harvesting: Once the perfect deer antler reishi mushrooms are ready, we harvest them with great care.

5. Processing: We dry the extract carefully before using it in capsules, sencha (green tea), and other products.

Human clinical trials have been conducted.

Hokkaido Reishi Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Hokkaido University and Hokkaido University of Information Sciences has completed a clinical trial on immune function (NK cell activity) using the Oukou Deer Horn Reishi capsules in May 2022.The study showed that NK cell activity tended to increase after 4 weeks and 12 weeks of taking Reishi. "The innate immune system, which shows the function of NK cells, is important in suppressing the onset of viral infections and cancer, and we expect that Deer Horn Reishi will prove useful in the future," according to the study. The research results have been submitted for publication in the journal "Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
